2024 YEAR REVIEW COMING SOON!!!

In 2023 we successfully implemented a few new programs that were planned in 2022. We were super excited to dive into new endeavors that got us closer to the goal of transitional living. We greatly appreciate everyone that have been supportive and patient with us during this planning time.
In 2022 so many great opportunities awaited us! We have added to our board of directors and expanded a few of our programs. We grew from 1 community garden location to 5 locations at the closing of 2022!

In 2021 we were excited to present new programs that we had been diligently working on. Due to Covid-19, we've learned new ways to cater to those in need. Our community clothing closet served over 500 individuals in KCMO and its surrounding areas. We have reached so many thru this ministry, we have had to expand our sorting station locations. Huge shout out to Elite LLC and John Dicapo of Dicapo foods for assisting us with the expansion of storage space for 2022!
2020 gave us many challenges, however, we're surviving and striving. This year we're focusing on being a fast responding, emergency response organization for the city of Kansas City, MO. We're implementing new programs specifically for the elderly and shut-in.  Each year we strive to reach more people and restoring more quality, independent living among the homeless. In 2020 we served over 1,200 people and look forward far reaching beyond that number....feel free to help us exceed that number by transitioning KCMO individuals in need.

THE FOUNDATION

Angels Encamped Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 organization serving the homeless and those in need in the Kansas City, MO urban core. We were founded in 2015 by our president, Malkia "Kiki" Fielder.

Our main focus is to assist in transitioning the homeless, and provide to those in need, daily living requirements, like food, clothing, personal hygiene items, shelter and resources. We focus on the needs of all people in our community, especially children. We are working hard to create and implement programs to save them from poverty, homelessness, violence, illiteracy, and preventable life experience crisis'.

We are privileged to have volunteers and members ranging in ages from exquisite 2 year olds to our wonderful senior citizens.

THE HARD TRUTH

January 2023...Kansas City, MO have created a law that bans the homeless residents from camping on state property. The consequence is outrageous and unrealistic. We at Angels Encamped Foundation are striving to gain access to as many properties within our service area to combat this situation. If you or someone you know can help, please reach out to us.

During the harsh winter of 2021, many shelters in KCMO were filled beyond capacity to provide a warm place for the homeless. We simply need more shelters and transitional housing...AEF is working towards making that happen!

Recent research says that at least 19% of shelter residents are under the age of 1 and 61% are under the age of 6.

Sadly since 2011 there has been a drastic increase in homelessness among senior citizen, those over the age of 62.

The vision for Angels Encamped Foundation came from the love and compassion our founder and president Malkia "KiKi" Fielder has to help everyone around her to the best of her ability. There have been times in her life that she sacrificed all she had to help others and felt as though she was a phone call away from homelessness. There were days she felt alone, even though she knew she wasn't. These experiences made her determined to make sure others around her didn't have to experience these things, if she could help it. She shared her thoughts and experiences with a few close, like-minded people who helped her begin to follow her heart  and dream to help the homeless and those in need as an organization. Since Angels Encamped Foundation's start we have learned to share what people need; some need homes and food, while others need a friend, someone to listen or a hug. No matter the need, we are dedicated to being available to assist those that are trying to help themselves, to ensure true progress.
